Learn how to tackle difficult behaviors exhibited by somebody with dementia
Hello. Today I want to talk to you about how you tackle difficult behaviors with somebody with dementia. So you want to look at what comes before, the antecedent. What time of day was it? Was the person with dementia inside or outside? So what came before? Next, the behavior. What did the person do? Did he or she lash out? Did they have sundowning? So that's the behavior part. Last, C consequence or result. What happened as a result of the behavior? What did the person with dementia do? What did you do as the caregiver? How did you react?
So that's the three basic prong method of analyzing these behaviors. A B C. Antecedent, Behavior, Consequence. If you would like more information on how to tackle these behaviors, please call Care Choice and set up an assessment with me. I'm happy to speak with you.
